The cloths of my early teens were Two tone tonic parallels . Jaytex shirt or black Brutus shirts Crombie overcoats. with a red hanky, red socks, royal shoes where large gangs of us used to wander the streets and congregate at the fish and chip shop to avoid Manchester weather

I vividly remember wearing to my high school bacalaureat service a custom tailored pink double knit 3 pieced suit with a double breasted jacket and extra wide bell bottomed pants equipped with a matching (made with the same material as the suit) extra wide pink bow tie and pink ruffled shirt contrasted by a wide white leather belt and white 4 inch platform shoes. I’m ashamed to admit I had a pink straw hat with a white headband to top it all off. “YIKES” !!
Being over 6 feet tall at the time, I must have looked like a stick of bubble gum on stilts….LOL

I recall wearing very wide hem pants and also platform shoes which I often fell off! The first half of the Seventies was still colourful from the previous Carnaby street era. Colour seemed to drain out mid decade from women’s and men’s fashion. Pants became straight legged or wide at the hip narrowing to the ankle. The platforms went off men’s shoes. I was 21 years old in 1979.

I was an Aussie teen in teh late 60’s and remember wearing long bell bottom vertical striped trousers, yellow, purple, blue and a few other colours. Also what was the fashion at that time was fish net shirts. I would love to be able to get these now for a laugh and maybe a party

John Travolta’s clothes in SNF were already on their way out of style when that movie came out. Within a year stylish men were wearing band collared shirts, dark denim straight leg jeans, and cowboy boots (but often simple ones, not elaborate).
