I’m ashamed to admit I had a pink straw hat with a white headband to top it all off. “YIKES” !!
Being over 6 feet tall at the time, I must have looked like a stick of bubble gum on stilts….LOL

The first half of the Seventies was still colourful from the previous Carnaby street era. Colour seemed to drain out mid decade from women’s and men’s fashion. Pants became straight legged or wide at the hip narrowing to the ankle. The platforms went off men’s shoes. I was 21 years old in 1979.

Within a year stylish men were wearing band collared shirts, dark denim straight leg jeans, and cowboy boots (but often simple ones, not elaborate).
